The MoneyShow.com just published my article: 3 Ways to Cope with Trading Fear.
Every trade we take has the potential to bring on the stress response. We naturally react to risky situations and threats with the emotion of fear. Now, I am not saying that we will be fearful on every trade; just that as humans we are susceptible to percieving threat and becoming fearful in the uncertainty of trading. Tim Borquin of TraderInterviews.com interviewed 200 wealthy traders and found that they still experience doubt and discomfort in some trades even after 20 years of trading. Unlike less experienced traders, however, these individuals have learned to cope with the natural fear response.
Most traders do the wrong thing when it comes to fear. They try to supress it, control it or avoid it. None of that works. In fact, these strategies take our focus off the trade and cause us to take flawed actions (check your own experiences on this and see if it is true). I discuss this in the article and suggest three things that are helpful coping strategies and that are constructive to your trading.
