We had a bit of an unusual day on Friday. Partly this was due to the jobs report. In any event, it was not constructive for the US Stock market. After being shut down for two days, the US Stock market reopened yesterday, despite the hurricane damage and enormous cleanup to be done in and around Wall Street in lower Manhattan. We’re Safe!
Hurricane Sandy is over. We faired OK. It came in yesterday mid-day and stayed with us all day and throughout most of the night. Very big winds and rain here; the trees were bending and the rains came in sideways. We lost power yesterday afternoon, which we expected. Fortunately, our generator worked well and we were fine. Another hurricane is heading our way tonight. We can already hear the wind starting to howl!
