The Ultimate Wyckoff Teaching Series includes the best of the Wyckoff Method teaching from the top 3 Wyckoff Giants: Richard Wyckoff himself, and two modern Wyckff Experts, David Weis, and Tom Williams.  This series includes the teachings of the life time work of these 3 masters taught by Dr. Gary Dayton.  Dr. Gary was a student of both David Weis and Tom Williams.   This teaching series contains over 30 hours of detailed instruction, and consists of the following four courses on the Wyckoff Classics by these 3 Wyckoff Masters:

    1. Richard Wyckoff’s Case History of the New York Time Average of 50 Stocks in 1930-31
    2. David Weis’s book: Trades About to Happen
    3. David Weis’s 2 chapters on trading bond futures in the book, Charting the Stock Market: the Wyckoff Method
    4. Tom Williams’s book: The Undeclared Secrets that Drive the Stock Market

This series covers the tape reading of Richard Wyckoff’s original work up to the present day, showing how both David Weis and Tom Williams applied Wyckoff in the modern era with copious insights and explicit examples in the current markets.  The teaching covers demonstrations of the core Wyckoff principles, expanded to show how the methods can be successfully traded in today’s markets.

In this series, Dr. Gary Dayton will take you through an indepth review and discussion of these works, highlighting the key aspects of the Method and how they are applied to today’s markets.  Dr. Gary was a student to both David and Tom, spending time with Tom trading the markets from Tom’s trading room in Worthing, England, and as a close student and friend of David Weis.  Dr. Gary is an asknowledged teacher and expert of the Wyckoff method, trading psychologist, and Wall Street coach.

The series starts with Richard Wyckoff’s Case History of the New York Times Average of 50 Stocks in 1930-31.  If you want to develop the skills in reading the market by its own actions – i.e., from price and volume a long, this is the very best place to start.  In this segment of market history, Richard Wyckoff breaks down his method of reading the market bar-bay-bar in rich detail.  Although the Wyckoff Course has changed and evolved through the decades, this original work by Wyckoff has remained untouched and unaltered in the Wyckoff course.  It is, as David Weiss had said, “a profound study in how to really read the market.”  David said that this case history significantly changed his trading.  When I (Gary) studied this, after years of chasing indicators, I came to realize this is the way to view and truly understand the workings of the markets.

Although this case history was written nearly 100 years ago, it continues to be as relevant and as fresh today as the day it was first written.  Technologies may change quickly, sometimes causing revolutions in the way we do or think about things.  We’ve all experienced this with computers, the internet, and now AI.  Human nature, on the other hand, changes very slowly.  Humans evolve over thousands of years.   Today’s traders have similar thoughts, feelings, aspirations, goals, desires, and experiences as those traders 100 years ago, and the Wyckoff study reflects this.  If you want to truly understand how the markets work and if you want to read the market as it is trading in real time – that is, if you want to develop stellar tape reading skills, the Wyckoff case history is the ideal place to start.

After we finish with Wyckoff’s case history, we next turn to David Wiess’s book, Trades About to Happen: A Modern Adaptation of the Wyckoff Method.  In these in-depth and detailed video reviews and application of David’s book, Dr Gary brings alive his approach and insight and explains how to utilize the principles behind Wyckoff’s work and make effective trades with this method in our modern markets. He shows how David used intraday wave charts similar to Wyckoff’s originals, how to properly draw support/resistance lines, how to accurately interpret price bars and volume without derivative indicators, and how to conceive the market’s structure in terms of trading ranges where the struggle for dominance is played out between buyers and sellers and where we can recognize clear action signals at key turning points.

One of the most valuable assets of Daivid’s book is what he called his “trade finder.”  It’s a conceptual map of the market that highlights the very best locations to find highly reliable trades.  David often said you don’t drop a line in the middle of the lake if you are fishing for big trout.  Instead, you look for sunken logs, rocks and other structures.  This is where the fish are, and it’s also where the best trades are located – at market structure.  David has lots to say about structure and how to visualize the market.  Most traders look for trades that create trends.  As you will learn, David’s map of the market isn’t about trending.  Once you understand David’s approach, you will never see the market in the same way again.

Although David’s book is comprehensive, we also include two chapters on Bond trading David wrote earlier in his trading career.  These chapters are found in Charting the Stock Market: The Wyckoff Method, edited by Jack Hutson.  This is more of a swing trading study where David used a 45-minute chart and traded the US Bonds market, often holding for longer than a day.  All the key Wyckoff principles are shown in detail, along with David’s thinking on what the chart was presenting, where to take trades, and then managing them.  All-in-all, a valuable study of several weeks of bond trading that shows how one can approach, understand and successfully trade today’s active markets.

We then turn to Tom Williams’s amazing book, The Undeclared Secrets that Drive the Stock Market.  Tom’s book is one of the very best technical trading books on adapting the classic work of Richard Wyckoff to today’s markets. In fact, many traders have said that Wyckoff truly came alive for them once they studies Tom’s work.  Tom would often say, “When supply (or demand) comes into the market, it doesn’t just go away.”  This is a crucial concept that few traders seem to grasp, but that is crudial to understand.  Tom shows precisely how to read the presence of supply or demand that occurred in the recent past and that will influence current and near-term price.  Few traders know how to see this let alone understand it, but what an edge it provides when you can see it!  Dr. Gary details how Tom approached the markets, and how he used the Wyckoff principles to effectively trade the markets.  Tom practiced Wyckoff a little differently than David Weis.  Tom emphasized background conditions and aimed a keen eye to what had happened in the recent past and how that will likely affect coming price action.  This is really useful, as it helps complete the picture, giving you a deep understanding of what’s actually happening as it is happening, and the confidence to pull the trigger when other traders are trying to figure out whether to go short or long.  Dr Gary brings Tom’s approach alive and explains how to utilize the principles behind Wyckoff’s work and make effective trades with this method.
